Dot Ayers WMU News! - October’s Mission was Socks for Cancer Patients; we collect 175 pair, they were delivered with notes attached to each pair.  The Center was very appreciative, they were down to their last 3 pair. Thank you Ladies!

A Dot Ayers WMU Message from Kim Saylors:

As stated above, we delivered 175 pairs of socks to the Cancer Center at AnMed.  The infusion nurse was amazed and said that God has perfect timing because they only had 3 pairs of socks left in a drawer that they were trying to save and give those 3 pair to who needed them the most, but now they can give to all of their patients in need.  Thank you so much for doing this project and touching 175 lives!

Next meeting on Saturday, November 5th, we will start collecting nonperishables to make a Thanksgiving meal box for a needy family as well as extras going to the Good Neighbor Cupboard.  Boxes will be placed at the front door of the church, so if anyone in the church would like to make a donation, they will be able to as well.  Thank you.

Pastor:  What do we believe by true faith?

Everyone:  Everything taught to us in the gospel.  The Apostles’ Creed expresses what we believe in these words:  We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.  We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting

~Tonight we will be doing something new by transforming our Sunday Night study into a prayer meeting. I am so excited about this because I truly believe God hears & answers those who pray, in one way or another. Mark 11:17 says, "And he was teaching them & saying to them, 'Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you have made it a den of robbers." Thus, everything we do, as a church ought to be bathed in prayer. The other exciting aspect of this prayer meeting is that two of our young ladies from AU will be helping to organize & guide us during this time. Don't worry about praying out loud in front of a large group. I know that pressure makes many nervous to attend & I want to assure you that won't be what takes place. Rather, commit to come a pray with us!

VBS Week was GREAT!  We had the privilege of proclaiming Jesus to 58 kids during the week and played a role in 3 salvations!  Praise the Lord!

The offering for the week for the Gideons was $545.65.  Way to Go Kids!

We hosted over 125 people on Friday’s Family Night.  It was a wonderful turn out of parents, grandparents, guardians and other family members coming to watch their kids show what they had learned all week, preform the songs and receive their certificates.  Then we gathered in the FLC for a hotdog supper and fellowship.

A special thank you to over 30 Volunteers (Adults & Youth), that helped make the week possible.  Also, thank you to those who helped make the end of the night extra fun and entertaining; David Clardy for the exciting Fireworks Show & to the Hopewell Fire Department for bringing out the Fire Truck and the Volunteers, allowing the kids to check out the truck, spray the hose and get sprayed.
